From the article.
“Girls who complain about their problems at greater risk of developing anxiety and depression”
I’m definitely not making this up! Good read though. This is pretty interesting because boys who complain to friends do not develop these problems. I’m not a psychologist but I think all women are nuts. Kidding!
I think this has a message for all of us though, don’t dwell on your problems.

This study is rather deceptive. They didn’t actually prove that co-rumination causes depression and anxiety; they only proved that they are correlated. Maybe the girls had high depression and anxiety that caused them to have high levels of co-rumination. Or maybe there is some other factor that causes high levels of co-rumination, anxiety, and depression that wasn’t assessed in the survey. Or, the person who wrote the article could have just butchered the original scientific one and made it sound like they only proved correlation and not causation. Journalists like to butcher scientific works.
Love you!

I thought this was just an article on the research. It is being released in the July issue of Development Psychology. Did you get that issue?

It is a dumbed down version of the research article so non phd’s can understand what’s going on. And why would you think I had that issue?
